Perform electrical NDT test to send
electrical pulses throughout the frame to detect harmonic resonances in order
to verify the extent of the damaged area.
•
Damage portion is carefully sanded
away, plus an extended area about 1-1/2” around the crack or damaged portion.
•
Examine the sanded area and view the original
fiber orientation.
•
After area is built up, it is
sanded down a final time to match the same contour of the original frame area.
•
The frame is re-painted and the
laminate is re-built by matching the orientation of the original fibers with
the new layers being applied.
